Beat college sounds... fake.  "I go to school to learn how not to do things."
Besides, the beats owe everything to Cummings.  They are all just second generation hacks when
it comes down to it (although good hacks!)... and e.e. is only an echo and extension of a
sentiment that has been running through humanity for all time...
But I believe e.e. can best refute the idea of a beat college himself:

                    Replying to Original Article:Someone was telling me once about a beat
college somewhere in either New York or Colorado maybe (oh heck, I can't remember where it
was...it's not important) where you study ginsberg, kerouac, burroughs, cassady, etc and then
for your senior thesis, you either have to spend an entire year in jail or as a bum (following
the footsteps of the great beats). When you get through, you write all about it. I thought that
was really odd. I think it would be a cool school to go to, but I would probably drop out before
having to do the thesis (maybe that's the third option, I dunno).
Anyway, this message string had just got a little too sober, so I thought I'd lighten it up a
little bit. Don't get me wrong, I'm not making light of the subject, just lightening it up. Now
that that's settled..."don't you know that God is pooh-bear?"
