But, for me, an argument's main purpose is to better formulate my own ideas... even if neither part convinces the other of anything, both at least know better what they think. And, hopefully, are thinking.Useless?--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Replying to Original Article:I just had a revelation today. It really has little to do with what you were saying, but I felt this was the forum to put it under. I realised today that arguing is completely pointless. It gets absolutely nothing accomplished. Debate is fine, but it can dissolve, and the only winner is the one who has a voice left over at the end of it. Think about it: an arguement ensues when to people with polar opposite views of a subject meet up. Neither is likely to be conviced by the others arguement, and no matter what, the thing will still happen. It doesn't matter whether I'm for or against abortion, or capital punishment, or gun control. They still happen, whether I like it or not. Now if I choose to act on my beliefs, by signing a petition or participating in a boycott, that is another story. But to yell and scream and bitch at another person who doesn't think how I do is pointless. Nothing changes. I guess I'm done. -D the F
